"You can't depend on no miracle
You can't depend on the air
You can't depend on a wise man
You can't find them because they're not there
You can depend on cruelty
Crudity of thought and sound
You can depend on the worst always happening
You need a Busload of Faith to get by"

Busload
of Faith ~ Lyrics by Lou Reed ~ New York
~
Reunion (bridging reality) was produced in various locations during our
gypsy travels throughout the Southwestern US. The initial idea was conceived
while we lived in the small town of Pontypool, ON. The sketch and first
brush strokes were put to canvas in my parent's basement in Orono, ON. It
was then packed in our trailer along with our most precious possessions and
worked on further in a house we occupied in The Village of Oak Creek, AZ.
Reunion was finished, signed and dated while we lived in a house on
Doodlebug Island in Sedona, AZ. Following that stay on Doodlebug we once
again set off on a journey, this time up the Number One highway along the
coast of California. But before leaving Sedona there was someone interested
in buying it, except what they offered was too low, so Reunion came with us.
While in San Diego I received a call and higher offer from this potential
client. Although we were broke and scraping our way up the coast, it was
still not enough. These negotiations followed us all the way up the coast
until we reached Santa Cruz, where he finally accepted my asking price and
Reunion was then shipped to find a home in Mesa, AZ. Since that time I have
lost contact with this client and the present whereabouts of Reunion is now
a mystery. But before it was sold I had the photography done for printing in
Phoenix, AZ and when the budget allows, it will be reproduced.
That's how it came to be, as to the why? At the time, I was looking (as we
all do from time to time) for someone to tell me why and how it is. This
search led us on our travels only to find out in the end the wise man or
woman lives within us all. Reunion is basically a meeting and acceptance of
self and Self. And to reiterate the 'wise' words of Lou Reed, "You can't
depend on a wise man, You can't find them because they're not there". They're here. Always.
