The figure stands firm and resolute. From this
cracked and broken rock I shall not be shunted. For it is who I am and to
forfeit my stance is to vanish leaving emptiness in its
wake. This I can not allow for I am here and now the double edged sword
of anger comes into play. Pseudo-spiritualists condemn it's use but in order to
survive I am left with little choice. And when anger's work is done the
Indian's feather is aimed in peace back to the sacred ground. For wisdom
dictates that once the point is drawn if held too long and tight this double
edged energy will turn, cut you to pieces and eat you up inside.
In stating my case at times my passionate self expression is misdiagnosed as
a psychological imbalance of... 'Oh he's just angry...' which only serves to
fuel my rage all the more. It's being misunderstood and not heard because of
preconceived notions of who I am that brought the Mystic Bat Priest out of
my darkness and into the light.

"Anger is an energy..."

John Lydon (aka Johnny
Rotten)
~
An energy which needs some form of release through expression, lest it
cripple you inside. And as another famous John pointed out, "One thing you can't
hide is when your crippled inside."
Disclaimer: This image has received more condemnation (with the possible
exception of the crucifixion "Self-Portrait (with an unfillable Whole") than
anything else I have produced to date. It is a culmination of various
traditions red and white. I hold the highest respect for the Native
traditions and do not pretend to adhere to them in any strict sense. And
with the deepest respect I understand how Native Americans feel when the
white man who changed their course in history irrevocably now profit from
their sacred way. I too have had my hard fought life experiences pilfered
for profit. Ironically... its why Stand! exists.
